Endoscopic Findings of Upper Gastrointestinal Disease in Children Pediatric upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is essentially performed on symptomatic patients, unlike in adults, where the primary purpose is to screen for malignant disease. Typical indications for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in children are acute epigastric or right upper quadrant pain, hematemesis or melena, dysphagia or odynophagia, caustic ingestion or foreign-body ingestion and recurrent vomiting. On the day of the lecture, endoscopic findings will be explained with a focus on the following diseases Esophageal diseases: reflux esophagitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal varices, esophageal achalasia, congenital esophageal stricture Gastric diseases: gastric ulcer, chronic gastritis (H.pylori infection), gastric tumor, Menetrier's disease Duodenal diseases: duodenal ulcer, Crohn's disease
